This hoax project was a development of the previous years Unofficial Investigations. The pupils were given the initial set of of project conditions: a person has vanished, and left behind evidence.
The reasons for the vanishing, the evidence left behind, and the mathematical connections were again, all developed by the pupils.
Also, this time, instead of working from an installation perspective, and creating a site/ lair, the pupils looked at archival conventions and museology as they prepared all their evidence for public display.
In order for the hoax to work, it was necessary for the pupils to understand how information is used in institutional environments. As the pupils learned more about ideas of interpretive text and taxonomy, it enabled them to present a successfully developed archive.
